Every day, in classrooms, I see a large number of students dropping their feeble eyelids in hunger. That's as true as hunger. As a teacher, I have to face their angelic faces and think deeply over the rudimentary education which goes not that well without food and rest. Their melancholia and "leaden-eyed despair" driven by stark poverty prohibit them from imbibing quality learning. It is our responsibility to reach out to those who are denied of proper upbringing, healthy food and, apart from all, childhood. Akshaya Patra has flagged off a programme of programmes to feed children - countless children, in whom tomorrow's Indians are germinating slowly and silently.
Their website http://www.akshayapatra.org/ speaks for both the satisfied and the to-be-satisfied stomachs of hundreds of thousands of students.
They need us,
our global presence...
and a square meal to be quenched of hunger...
Their stupendous activity says something more delicious, something more toothsome than midday meal itself. It speaks of love and care, of Indians flanked by Indians.
N.B. The foundation has declared in their website, "2 chosen winners get an all expense paid trip to Jaipur". I would like to draw the attention of the foundation regarding this. I, if chosen, would not go to Jaipur. The "all expense" may please be donated in favour of this noble cause.

In the diary of a dead moth,
