... a new moral of a well-known story

Here goes the story...
............

One day two women fell out over a child. One said, "It's my child. Why are you claiming it as yours?" The other said, "No, you wicked woman! This is my child. I'm its mother." Then they decided to come to the Court of Justice of the then King Solomon.

"King Solomon was caught in the two women's quarrelling over a very delicate issue. One claimed that she was the mother of the child. At once the other said that it was not true. She claimed to be the real mother.

The King brooded for a while.

Then he ordered one of his servants, "My dear Jeeves! May your shiny blade cut this child into two equal halves and let your bloody arms divide the pieces between these two mothers?"

Hearing the order of the King one woman remained silent and agreed. But the grim order vehemently shocked the other woman. Anticipating a fatal loss, she threw herself at the feet of the King and entreated, "Your Majesty! Please have mercy on my child! Let my child survive. Take away my life instead!"

The wise King could easily understand who the real mother was. He handed over the child to her and punished the other woman."

............

Listening to the small story, a little child heaved a sigh and asked his mother, "Are you my real mother?" Mother absorbed him closely, smiled and asked, "What do you think my son?" He wisely said, "Last night, you had a quarrel with my father. I could hear the loud cries ~ go get separated, let us separate! Teacher says, Quarrelling is bad."

"No...!" softly mumbled his mother. Tears began clouding her eyes as she was trying to forget the child's words forming wounds.

The tiny tot made a wind-up, "Why are you weeping, Ma? Look, I am no King Solomon. I can't judge at all".
